[Action in the Residential Neighborhoods - Very Early Morning]
[It's way, way too early in the morning for anyone to be knocking on your door - especially when that person happens to be a teenage girl that looks half-asleep. The sun's just peeking over the horizon and yet, here she is knocking on your door. Will you answer?]
[Phone - Afternoon]
The Outside World's weird.

[Phone - Afternoon]
The Outside World's weird.
action;
[blink. blink. blink.]
...the ghost princess told you to go rob a grave? Really?
action;
[You make no sense, maid. People who rob graves are absolute scum.]
action;
action;
[And now she's getting up and going to leave.]
action;
[A pause.]
...you caught what I said, then?
action;
Re: action;
...you didn't answer whether you caught what I said, though.
action;
[answer: nope]

[A pause, and when she speaks again, she's deadly serious.]
This place is called Mayfield. It's supposed to be an Outside World town in America, circa the 1950s. This means it's a bit boring compared to things at home, or so it would seem on the outside.
...it does things to people. Strange things. Apparently death isn't uncommon, though no one actually stays dead permanently.
More than that...it has a way of doing strange things to one's head. As an example, I'm sure you've seen the people who are uncannily happy? The ones that are --
[At that moment, one of the drone children comes up, asking her if they can go to the park again. She nods and sends the boy outside, and he's followed by a girl a moment later. A moment later, they're outside on bicycles and off to play.]
-- like that. Who honestly believe I'm their mother, when I'm no such thing. We call them 'drones'. And this place can do it to any one of us.
[She's speaking from experience.]
action;
That sucks.
action;
...it helps that I'm used to being around magicians, on the latter front. My 'husband' and I also share the ability to manipulate time, which has led to some interesting discussions. We get along well, all things considered.
[You might notice her mood shifts a bit when she speaks, clearly happier when discussing him than when discussing the false children.]
action;
Well, I'll be... Never thought I'd see the day.
action;
You never thought you'd see the day when what?
action;
action;
What makes you say that?
[Never mind that she's right about it.]
action;
action;
No need for such things.
[time for a topic change.]
Ah, by the way, have you run into imouto-sama yet? I'm sure she'll be pleased to see you, given how fond of you she is.
