[Action in the Residential Neighborhoods - Very Early Morning]

[It's way, way too early in the morning for anyone to be knocking on your door - especially when that person happens to be a teenage girl that looks half-asleep. The sun's just peeking over the horizon and yet, here she is knocking on your door. Will you answer?]

So you were like a... magic baby?

"No, no magic was involved. I was a genetics experiment."

I have no idea what genetics are, ze.

"The science of how living organisms are made. I believe the magical term is homonculi... But I'm not sure as there is no magical studies on my world."

Yeah... homonculi would be the right term. Nasty bit of magic. Real dark stuff - you never get what you intend with it.

...that doesn't exactly make the whole science thing sound any better.

"Its more stable using scientific method."

Still doesn't keep people from making creepy things that shouldn't exist.

...no offense, ze. You seem pretty non-evil to me.

"None taken. I am not evil really."

So, is this whole no-emotion thing because you're a... genetic person?

"I was taught they weren't important."

...who the hell taught you that? Emotions are really important, ze.

"Most of the staff at the institute I was raised in."

Emotions are what make people so interesting and so amazing, ze. They're one of the things that set us apart from robots.

"But I was allowed to be born to be the interface with a computer.... And I like robots."

[She has no idea what a computer is other than something machine-like.]

But you're not one.

"No. I am not, but I was engineered to facilitate the efficient use of one and to keep it from.... Doing stupid things like killing all the humans, or calculating Pi to the trillionth number on a dare."

I don't see how you have to not have emotions to do that. Sounds like the computer's more human-like to me...
